Svay Rieng is a province in southeastern Cambodia. It borders Vietnam to the east, south, and southern parts. It covers an area of 2,966 square kilometers with a population of 352,000. The provincial capital is Svay Rieng with a population of 14,000. The entire province is located in the plains area with a relatively hot and dry climate, and an annual rainfall of around 1,500 millimeters. Rice cultivation is prominent, with the province leading in irrigated rice fields nationwide, and some areas also grow dry rice. Additionally, Svay Rieng produces sugarcane, fruits, and has sugar factories. The road network centered around Svay Rieng city is well-developed, connecting to Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
