Zrenjanin is located in the eastern part of Vojvodina Autonomous Province, serving as the administrative center of Central Banat District. The Assumption Cathedral, built in 1746, is the oldest church in Zrenjanin, designed in Baroque style and miraculously surviving a major fire in 1807.
