Kaieteur National Park was established in 1929, covering an area of 630 square kilometers. The park was created to preserve the beautiful natural scenery and wildlife of the region. The highlight of the national park is undoubtedly the Kaieteur Falls, which not only captivates Guyana but also garners global attention.

With a width of 450 feet, the Kaieteur Falls boasts the widest single drop in the world, standing at a height of 741 feet, nearly five times the height of the famous Niagara Falls. From afar, you can see the water cascading down, hitting another rock on the way before continuing its fall, eventually turning into a raging river. This immense flow of water roars all year round, creating a spectacular and awe-inspiring sight, especially during the rainy season when the water volume is abundant.

Apart from this breathtaking waterfall, the park’s wildlife, birds, and plants are also worth visiting. The vibrant colors of the plants are delightful, and the birds sing melodious songs in the forest, as if providing background music for the Kaieteur Falls. The animals play freely, creating a harmonious scene.
