The Ha’apai Islands consist of a series of islands, islets, reefs, and shoals, located in the central part of the Kingdom of Tonga. It is mainly composed of 36 islands, including Foa, Lifuka, Tofua, Nomuka, among others, with seventeen of them being inhabited. The total land area of the archipelago is 118 square kilometers, known for its production of coconuts and bananas. Pangai, on the west coast of Lifuka Island, serves as the administrative center and main port of the archipelago. The Ha’apai Islands attract tourists with their pristine natural scenery. With government support, the tourism industry in the islands has seen significant development in recent years, aiming to provide visitors with more comfortable living facilities and improved entertainment amenities without harming the beautiful natural landscape.
